RESUMO

Companies realize that it is necessary to maximize the opportunities come from the strategic alignment between information technology strategy and enterpreneurial strategy and minimize the limitations and threats of misalignment of these two strategies. In that sense this dissertation tried to identify which have been the enabling and inhibiting factors of the strategic alignment between information technology strategy and enterpreneurial strategy in a situation of fusion of companies in a retail environment. The research arose from the interest of need of studies of alignment during the fusion process. It also aimed to identify the perception of managment about the strategic alignment between information technology strategy and enterpreneurial strategy and factors which enable and inhibit such alignment. The research also tried to estabilish based on the perception of managment which specific characteristics of strategic alignment of fusion cases such as the one studied. The research was done through a case study in retails companies â Wal-Mart Brazil and BompreÃo S.A, and was considered a significant case in this segment given the reputation of the researched companies. The implementation of the research was done through interviews with managment of the two companies that were being merged, in order to collect opnion on the factors which enabled and inhibited the strategic alignment between information technology strategy and enterpreneurial strategy. The outcomes show these factors and ilustrate the specificities which these factors have during the fusion process of companies
