RESUMO

The central objective of this research was to understand some aspects of Caixa EconÃmica Federal agencyâs main managersâ professional learning, at Recifeâs Metropolitan Region. This research was guided by the following questions about the participants throughout their professional careers: a) What is the role of interpersonal relationships for main managers learning? b) What is the role of possible communities of practice, composed by main managers, in the learning of these professionals? c) What the main managers learned that had been decisive for the performance of their tasksâ execution? The fundamentals of this research included theoretical subjects as, situated learning, learning content, communities of practice, and interpersonal relationship. Seeking to discover the respondentsâ perspectives regarding these issues, ten main managers of Caixaâs agencies were selected and a case study was developed. The main instrument used for the collection of data was the half-structuralized interview, which was lead with each one of the researched professionals. The data analysis understood the description and the interpretation of different aspects of the investigated phenomenon. From the gathered data, this research concluded that: 1) Relationships make it possible that people learn ones from the others and supply support in order to facilitate the learning. 2) The communities of practice make stronger the beneficial effects of the relationships for the learning. 3) The content of the interviewed managers learning was based on operational abilities, relevant abilities related to communication with people and questions to their own behavior
