Transactions between mother company and its service lenders: a study in the sector of a professional footwear. / TransaÃÃes entre empresa-mÃe e suas prestadoras de serviÃo: um estudo no setor de calÃados profissionais.

RESUMO

The work searched to understand the relationship between the âMother Companyâ, that it produces and it commercializes security footwear, with its service lenders, âthe suppliersâ. For in such a way, it was used as theorical referencial the subjects outsourcing, networks and economy transaction costs. The study was developed analyzing the mother company and eight service lenders that are located in the cities of Dores de Campos, Prados and Itanhandu, state of Minas Gerais. It is a qualitative research, that it used the case study as research method. For collection information, it was used the triangulation method, applying the documentation analyzes, half-structuralized interviews and observation not-participant. For it analyzes and treatment of the information collected had been used content analyzes and the work models of Arbage &Padula (2003), Casarotto Filho (1998), Di Pietro (2000), Hoffnann et al. (2004), Milgrom &Roberts (1992), North (1994), Pires (2004) and Williamson (1996). As results had that the adopted outsourcing process of the mother company had as main cause the characteristics of the activity, cultural aspects and the search for competitive advantages, the outsourcing adopted was classified as a type of partnership. The âsupplierâ service lenders had been classified in four groups that it allowed to better understand the relations with the mother company, as: Traditional Supplier, Transistion Supplier, New Supplier and Modern Supplier. In relation of the networks configured, it perceives that the type is top-down. The transaction costs had been analyzed through three aspects: the behavior of the agents, the characteristics of the transactions and the evaluation of the transactions. Ahead of the results, one perceived that an effort exists between the parts in the direction of try to minimize the related transaction costs. The governance process that applies to the case was considered hybrid. Through the results of the work, one concluded that the characteristics of the outsourcing process, as well as the outsourcing type and the reasons that had led the company to outsource had reflected of positive form in the relationship between the mother company and the service lenders, being thus the transaction costs are minimum and exists a considerable efficiency in the process of exchange between the companies.
