Efeitos da utilizaÃÃo das diferentes doses de olanzapina sobre a espermatogÃnese em ratos wistar

RESUMO

The Olanzapina is used by acute treatment and maintenance in schizophrenia trail, as well as another psychoses. Despite atypical antipsychotics being more utilized nowadays, however there are few knowledge about its influence under spermatogenesis. Based on dopamine receptors presence in germ cell, the present work had objective to investigate the effects of treatment with olanzapine in Wistar rats, with respect to plasmatic levels of testosterone and spermatogenesis. In this experiment were used different olanzapine`s doses in 60 days old Wistar rats along to 45 days. Afler the last day of drug administration, the rats were submitted to euthanasia procedure to collecting blood and organs of male genital system. Utilizing olanzapine per living weight weight during 45 days in rats produced structural and functional modifications in all genital system since were observed testicular, epididimal and prostate weight reduction. Also, were observed reduction in tubular diameter and epithelium height which can be related with reduction in spermatogenic process and testosterone serum levels
