RESUMO

The present report represents an effort of identification of the meaning of the nature for the different social groups that act in the coast of Pernambuco. For accomplishment of the study the beaches of Gamela and Guadalupe had been selected, with the particularity to compose at the same time a Unit of Conservation of the Nature (APA of Guadalupe) and a tourist center (CT Guadalupe). Estimating itself that the success of the action in ambient education has as basic requisite the dialogue between the common sense and the scientific knowledge, the comment of the different social groups that interact in concrete ambient situations account with the theory of the social representations, as an important theoreticinstrumental tool to advance towards direction to pick up, to interpret and to reflect on the sustentation bases that base the relations of the men between thenselves, of these to the nature and, specifically in the composition of forces of the relations society and nature. In this direction, and having as referential the theory of the social representations of Moscovici, as well the structural boarding of Abric and the societal perspective of Doise, it was carried out through a theoretical and empirical study in this areas object of this research. The attainment and analysis of the data had followed a pluri-metodological orientation. The collection and analysis of the data was effected using a test of association of ideas and interview, in a sample of 236 searched people, especially in two situations: summer holiday, and week all together. For the treatment of the data the softwareâs EVOC and ALCESTE were used. The results make possible, the identification of the structure of the social representations, differentiationâs of groups and the defining elements of the goal processes and anchorage of the social representations of the nature disclosing, on the other hand, the existence of a common field of the representations guided by the idea of the natureas a, source of life, towards the necessity of the environment preservation; on the, the differentiationâs group that had disclosed to a nature supplier, as much in the physical direction as in sensual of human beings necessities. In the anchorage, the presence of hegemonic representations demarcates a crisis that confirms a relation space society human/natures in process of transformation in the search of the configuration of a new Gestalt. This study ratified the importance of the use of the theory of the social representations as a theoretical and metodological tool to be extended in the action of the education and environment management
