RESUMO

In this new century, organizational learning assumes a great relevance. Before the valorization of information and of knowledge as competitiveness factors, learning has been one of the focuses within the organization theory and play an outstanding role in the study of the strategic administration and of management. The great challenge is that the theory which establishes the bridge between individual learning and organizational learning is up to now in its embryonic state. Little is known on the mode as organizations learn and, consequently, as individual learning contributes towards organizational learning. However, the possibility of transforming organizations, making use of andragogical practice (education of adults) opens a field to re-mean, re-build and transform this reality. It was sought by means of that research work to explore the literature and to present some theoretical reflections about learning process in adults as an attempt of better understanding the paradigms of analysis turned to the process of learning in organizations. The theoretical construct of this investigation is centered on the âTheory of the Transformative Learning of Adultsââ developed by Jack Merizow. This work has as the central goal to investigate, under the optics of Transformative Learning Theory, the Andragogical Proposal of Petrobras. More specifically, it was intended in this investigation: i) redeem some aspects of history of this organization, distinguishing the elements that structured the andragogical process proposed by its Corporative University and; ii) verify whether the andragogical proposition of the organization object of analysis, guides itself by the pre-supposed of transformative learning theory. Research concluded that a number of presuppositions of the theory of Transformative Learning are present in the andragogical proposal of the Corporative University of the organization studied. However, there is a diversity of important presuppositions defended by the theory, which are not yet placed into practice in Corporative Education of that organization. This investigation finalizes with the proposition that other studies be performed encompassing that important thematic, aiming to present new proposals of educative programs for the Corporative University and enterprises in general.
