1. Hatching Characteristics and Growth Performance of Eggs with Different Egg Shapes
ABSTRACT This study was carried out to identify the effect of the egg shape index on the hatchability, performance, and carcass yield of Japanese quails (Coturnix coturnix Japonica ). Eggs were incubated in three groups, according to three different egg shape index (SI) values (Group SI-I: 70.00-73.85%, Group SI-II: 73.86-77.71% and Group SI-III: 77.72-81.57

2. Crescimento e potencial energético de plantas intactas e de brotações de plantas jovens de clones de eucalipto / Growth and potential energy evaluation of intact plants and coppice from juvenile plants of eucalypt clones

3. Estudo do crescimento de tourinhos em pastejo recebendo suplementação concentrada com diferentes perfis protéicos / Study of the growth of young bulls in grazing areas receiving concentrated supplementation with different protein profiles

4. GROWTH AND YIELD OF Pinus taeda L. IN THE CAMPOS DE CIMA DA SERRA REGION, RIO GRANDE DO SUL. / CRESCIMENTO E PRODUÇÃO DE Pinus taeda L. NA REGIÃO DOS CAMPOS DE CIMA DA SERRA, RIO GRANDE DO SUL.
This thesis was carried through as objective to study the growth and the yield of a stand of Pinus taeda L., implanted in 1987, in an initial spacing of 3 x 2 meters, located in the Farming Farm of the Ipê Ltda, in the city of CanelaRS. This stand was management in high shaft system, with thinning underneath, for the wooden yield of great dimensions. To rea

A atividade preda

6. Entornos - a fotografia como conhecimento do processo de comunicação do espaço.
This research is an attempt to follow one of the citys invitation, that one of its speech, of its communicative flows, of its life experiences and habits, which sail on the time and hew up the space: the urban space. Urban space made of levels, levels of techniques, levels of methods, levels of values and dreams, of collective biographies that takes the city

7. Compressão externa dos membros inferiores : alternativa de tratamento clinico para claudicação intermitente
This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of the extemal compression ofthe lower limbs (CEM) on the treatment of patients presenting with intermittent claudication due to obstruction of the superficial femoral artery, and measured as maximal walking capacity on a motorized treadmill at four KmIh on a four percent incline. Two groups were studied of mal

8. Strain distribution in extents of lysozyme resistance and O-acetylation of gonococcal peptidoglycan determined by high-performance liquid chromatography.
The extent of lysozyme resistance and O-acetylation of purified peptidoglycan (PG) from 20 strains of Neisseria gonorrhoeae was examined to determine how widespread these properties are among various subsets of gonococcal isolates. To determine digestibility by lysozyme, we treated [3H]- or [14C]glucosamine-labeled PG with hen egg white lysozyme (HEW-LZ) and

10. Determination of the Rate of CO2 Evolution by Green Leaves in Light 1
The rate of CO2 evolution in light by green leaves was determined by 2 methods in a closed system of gas analysis and by measuring the amount of CO2 evolved into a CO2 free air stream in an open system. All methods gave similar results under comparable conditions.

11. Amino acid sequence of mammalian elongation factor 2 deduced from the cDNA sequence: homology with GTP-binding proteins.
Complementary DNA clones, pHEW1 and pRE2, coding for hamster and rat polypeptide chain elongation factor 2 (EF-2), respectively, were isolated and sequenced. It was shown that the cDNA insert in pHEW1 contains a 2574-base-pair open reading frame coding for an 857-amino acid polypeptide with Mr 95,192, excluding the initiation methionine. Comparative studies

12. Inhibition by Lysozyme of Growth of the Spherule Phase of Coccidioides immitis In Vitro
Development of mature endosporulating spherules from an endospore inoculum was markedly inhibited by human or hen egg-white (HEW) lysozyme at 5 μg/ml. Mature spherules formed in medium containing 5 μg per lysozyme per ml (3.3 × 10−7 M) were approximately 50% smaller than control spherules. In addition, lysozyme induced a large portion of the endospore i
