Tutoria na formação de professores: um vasto campo de investigação

RESUMO

ABSTRACT This work aims to study the meaning of tutorship in the PECFormação Universitária Municípios, developed by PUC/SP and designed to provide higher education in the teaching profession to teachers working in the São Paulos municipal network benefiting from EaDs resources. Therein, it was attempted to understand the role of the tutor-teacher, the importance of his activity and what are the essential skills to fulfill this task. It is intended also, to investigate the tutor-teachers pedagogical formation, as he is the responsible for the work developed during classes. It consists of an exploratory study which fits in quantitative researches, with some characteristics of the participant research. The research carried through this formations context has the tutor-teacher set up to the subjects role. To accomplish that, it was developed a questionnaire contemplating the definition of the tutor-teachers profile and his difficulties. The data were treated through two groups. The first group was intended to draw the profile of the tutor-teacher, considering personal and academic data, experience in the teaching activity and the activities developed in the education field of expertise. The second group had the purpose of substantiating how teachers perceive themselves in the tutorship role and what are their major difficulties to endure this work. The results show that the tutor-teacher took over the tutorship activity without having proper knowledge of what situations they would face. It was obvious also, that they perceive themselves as a dynamic and essential subject, but not an isolated element in the teaching and learning process, offering to the tutor-teacher the cognitive, motivational, affective and social support, for them to deliver a satisfactory performance during the course. It is important to establish a connection and a partnership work between the tutor-teacher, the specialist-teacher and the pedagogic coordination. Therefore, the activity of the tutor-teacher is to unite the group in order to make its members feel welcomed, enthusiastic, craving to learn. The presence of the tutorship can propitiate the students to exercise the capacity to search and select information, not only deal with ready-made answers. The idea is not to accumulate information, but make the knowledge to be the basis to the learning process, as this is what is expected from the new era.
