The main problem that guided this work was about the necessity of integration between technology and humanism in technology education. To precede this research we had as object of study the course of technology in environmental processes, at UTFPR. To analyze better our object we started to base the theoretical reference in Gramsci, his concept about the man and the humanism and as the unitary school is determinant for the formation of a free human being, able to build himself and the world around in a conscious and responsible way. Basing in these elements as foundation, when we analyzed the recently public politics for education in Brazil, we realized a meaningful remoteness in these beginnings looking at from the man his criticism ability and the technical objective. This characteristic was absorbed by UTFPR that implicit or not takes its courses on like focusing on the pragmatic necessities and instrumental of the market, being this reason of them. In spite of being in this rationality the course of technology in environmental processes recognizes the necessity to form a professional that go beyond the practical technician, being like that, it also recognizes that the integration between technology and humanism is priority for the professional will be formed. But, between the recognition of a curriculum which accept this integration and the pedagogical practice of teachers there is a meaningful difference. The result is low comprehension an understanding about the significance of this integration, for this reason locking an effective pedagogy and remaining good wish.
