RESUMO

The main purpose of this Dissertation is to discuss about the creative process involved in the elaboration of six arrangements for small groups of Brazilian popular songs, using a polyphonic texture in the style of J. S. Bach. Some of the counterpointal techniques applied in these arrangements were identified through an analysis of four Brazilian popular songs that have a similar texture
