RESUMO

The company is socially responsible when it is going besides the obligation of respecting the laws, to pay imposed and to observe safety s appropriate conditions and health for the workers, and he/she makes that for believing that will be like this a better company and it will be contributing to the construction of a just society. In that work, we analyzed the conduct of the organizations, looking for to define the existent vision from behind of the conduct organizational, we formalized the characteristics of the performance of the companies differentiating what it is philanthropy and social responsibility, as well as we observed its positioning to different dimensions (stakeholders) however its interesting that here a space is reserved for the definition of the term social responsibility. It will be admitted, for ends of this study, that the social responsibility is the capacity of the company to collaborate with the society, considering its values, norms and expectations for the reach of its objectives. However, the simple execution of the legal obligations (here also denominated social obligation), previously determined by the society, as well as philanthropy acts, they won t be considered socially as behavior responsible. The methodology is predominantly qualitative it was a study of cases in two companies of the automobile chain of area of the state of Minas Gerais. An analytic model was used to characterize the engagement in social responsibility. We can end of the study that, the Distribuidora Ltda. is characterized mainly by possessing isolated actions, without management (establishment in formal documents) on the part of the company, of comfortable individual, restricted decision of the leadership of the company. The actions implemented by the Fornecedora S.A. are of strategic base, demanding of this form management, they are also linked, that is to say, with base in a collective action, this way, with fomentation of the citizenship.
