RESUMO
How does political activity influence strategic process is the aim of this paper. An analitycal framework for research on political components and its influence on alternative strategic choices consensus building, is suggested. First, are presented the political components that define the organizational political environment sources of CEO social power, organizational power structure, political skill of the top management team and legitimacy of decision making process. Second, are evaluated existing relationships between that components and consensus building and the influence of that componentes on the different steps of strategic process. Propositions are advanced for further theoretical development and empirical research as well
