RESUMO

Post-Mangue constitutes a socio-cultural musical genuinely contemporary phenomenon , in which predominates an independent musical production. The bands rehearsal, recording, burning, reproduction and release of their CDs and DVDs are made feasible by their own resources and by public cultural incentives. Some local events, such as Abril Pro Rock, RecBeat, Coquetel Molotov, improve the independents bands. Shows, CDs and DVDs selling represent one of the main income sources. The divulgation occurs mainly through sites such as MySpace, Orkut and blogs, in these virtual spaces songs are available for free downloading in MP3 format. The Post-Mangue is unfolding of Manguebeat Movement â which appeared in the outskirts â went to the center and has remained central. In this ethnographic study, The Playboys band songs are full of humor, satire and parody, telling about the Recifeâs cultural scene. Whereas, Vamoz! have the focus of internationalization process, songs in English, indie style, with shows in other states of the country and agended to occur abroad. On the other hand, Subversivos produce a socialist post-punk, subversive and wrathful lyrics denounce socio-economical inequalities, their production and divulgation being made in incipient. This cultural scenario of plural identities, mist ideologies, independent markets, fleeting, volatile, disposable, mutant, musical consuming. Symbolic space permeated by intolerance, conflicts and the struggles for power. Actually, the Manguetown is post-modern, cosmopolitan, universal, anthropophagic. But also rural, particular, regionalist. Crossroads, complexities, contemporary wandered, full of tension, intolerance, incompleteness
