RESUMO
The objective of the thesis presented here is to compare the literary work of Paul ValÃry and Osman Lins regarding to their elaboration of the literary form, their use of the language and the social commitment to enlarge and explore the reality. To do this, we revisited the book Guerra sem Testemunhas (1969) by Osman Lins and observed how the author is not only familiar with the poetic style, the rigor and the geometry of the valerian style of writing, but is also updated to the thoughts of the French poet as a writer who knew how to make the use of the chance to produce a literary composition. This work comes under criticism in the creation, or in the words of Leyla Perrone-MoisÃs (1998), in the book Altas literaturas, the principal characteristics of modern literature and writers committed to reflect on the act of writing. We pointed out how the conception of the literary form of these authors involve an active position with regards to the teaching of literature, to a revaluation of the analysis of the literary text as a whole, to validate which JoÃo Alexandre Barbosa (1990) called the reading interval, the links between literature and other areas of knowledge
