RESUMO

The point on which the organizations stand, within the determined scientifically elaborated cycle of life, is a theme that has led the researchers of the processes related to administrative management to prolonged and indepth studies, not only in the economical and managerial furtherance agencies, but to researchers on the subject inserted in the areas o scientific knowledge as well. The objectives of this study were: 1)Summing up the real situation of the researched organizations as far as their status is concerned, within the cycle of life of an organization, under an eminently technical view; 2) Analysing the reasons why a large part of the organizations manage to survive for years, in such competitive markets, without any further knowledge of the existing managerial processes, at the mercy of struggle made possible only to those who effectively have the entrepreneur ingenuity and effective managerial capacity, nevertheless, empiric. The undertaken research was characterized as descriptive investigation, of a quantitative and qualitative nature, and the method of data gathering was the structured questionnaire the object of study concentrated upon organizations in the line of supermarkets and similar, having considered the small establishments with similar characteristics, keeping in mind the fact of not including in the study the big national chains with branches in Vitória da Conquista Ba, site of the study especial attention was dedicated to the behavior of the managers, although the organizations under study, in their great majority, small and very small establishments, have their managers as the corner-stone and strongest lever in the impulsion of their endeavor, which in many moments face situations of nearly unsurmountable difficulties and are led to surpassing them just by an iron will to achieve the objectives they have set their minds to. By being in touch with such entrepreneurs, important conclusions were reached, such as: Not always is the knowledge acquired academically a decisive factor in the success of the entrepreneurships, although its presence could certainly add value to many essencial moments to the conducting of managering situations; the conducting of small sized entrepreneurships, such as the researched ones, have to put up with excessive burden of tributary and social taxes that interpose the productive activities, since it can be observed in many establishments that were researched, that the situation which was presented is not in accordance to the reality of the establishment; particularly in what the number of registered of employees is concerned as well as information of financial order, which is premeditatedly withheld to avoid the pertinent taxes. And finally, it was noticed, that in what the great majority of the organizations studied is concerned, that they are in the early stage of infancy, evolution or corporate culture, owing to their behaviors, that fall perfectly under those parameters excessively analysed by Adizes, Macedo and Kaufmann and object of this paper.
