Formação Profissional, Tecnologia e Emprego: Análise da Adequação da Formação do Curso Técnico em Telecomunicações às Necessidades Profissionais do Setor

RESUMO

This study researched competences developed in the telecommunications technical course structured by the Escola Técnica de Brasília ETB, as well as its adequacy regarding to telecommunications sector professional necessities in the region of Distrito Federal. Based on scientific literature related to this theme, several theoretical conceptions are presented and discussed concerning professional formation, employment issues and technological advances influences. Focusing these relations into the telecommunication sector, this paper identified which are the necessary competences for telecommunications technicians work in Distrito Federal, as well as those developed during the researched course. Besides, it was conducted a comparative analysis between these competences developed through the course and those identified as the necessary ones. Investigation can be characterized as a field qualitative research, making use of the case study strategy. Interviews were conducted with five instructors and twelve students graduated in this course already inserted into employment market as telecommunications technicians , aiming the identification of those competences developed through the course and those which are necessary to the technicians work. Results reveal that the competences development depends on professional situations which graduated students face, as pointed by Zarifians theory. So, whether competences are fully developed or not, it depends on work activities accomplished by the graduated students, as well as specific knowledge, skills and attitudes developed during the course. When telecommunications sector professional needs are compared to the course formation, most of graduated students consider the formation is suitable to the work demands. However, as they point, it is necessary to improve the formation, regarding, specially, the development of specific knowledge, skills and attitudes, as well as some general professional competences.
