RESUMO

It is the aim of the present research to introduce lexicographic advances in China and to propose a basic bilingual dictionary model for PortugueseChinese. This view is largely based on evaluativie studies of Chinese dicionaries by means of modern lexicographic theories of macrostructure and microstructure in dicitionaries. Thus, this research aims at studying the given Chinese lexicography, as well as completing a gap in Sino-Brazilian lexicography. Henceforth, it is our intention to offer a basic bilingual dictionary of PortugueseChinese for Chinese students at beginners level and also for Brazilian studentso who are interested in an introductionary study of the Chinese language.
