RESUMO

The studies about mentoring have evolved during the last decades with inquiries that have taken the important discovery of organizational behavior, refering to the behavior of mentors, protÃgà and the organization. This study investigated the characteristics that are involved into the organizational context, facilitating or inhibiting the implantation of a formal mentoring program, inside the vision of the controllers of EMPREL (Municipal Computing Company) and CELPE (Energetic Compay of Pernambuco), in Recife city. It was a study carried out in two stages: qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative stage was characterized basically for the documentary and literary research . In the quantitative stage, was developed a research through questionnaire application, with a sample of 75 questionnaires, but without probabilit. It used factorial analysis of questionnnaire results that made it possible to identify the dimensions of the variable that may facilitate or inhibit the implantation of the program. The paired-samples t-test to compare those results with the situation of the companies in the vision of the respondents. The results demonstrated that companies with some organizational characteristics, of a work group, a mentor and people that go to be protÃgÃs may facilitate the implantation of a formal mentoring program. To the degree that companies that do not present those characteristics, the process can be inhibit. The study also indicated that it would be easier to implement a formal mentoring program in CELPE than in EMPREL
