RESUMO

The study focus of this present work is a teaching and learning processes evaluation of a Brazilian distant learning curse, called PROFORMAÃÃO. This study presents an evaluation processâ conception analysis and students support for learning process in this program, as its main discussion point. In order to do so, this work analyses the evaluation and support learning actions performed by âformadoresâ teachers and tutors, using PROFORMAÃÃO evaluation instruments. We argue that, although present final examinations for distant mode certificated courses are compulsory by Brazilian Educational Laws, it is possible to support students learning and evaluation processes also by using distant learning. This argument gets stronger when we observe, nowadays, many different technological media, which provides simultaneous and interactive communication between teacher-students and student-student. For collecting data, we used interviews, classroom observations and documental analysis. During data analysis we select some categories to discuss learning evaluation conceptions: theoretical perspective; legal perspective and distant learning perspective. Results showed that: although PROFORMAÃÃO is a distant learning course its evaluation process is totally realized in a presence of students and teachers; the majority of its evaluations instruments is used in a classificatory perspective; the learning evaluation is focused on study guides content; âformadoresâ teachers and tutors do not plan or modify questions in evaluations instruments, they only execute what others planned e produced. Thus, according to the results showed, this work brings to the light an urgent need for discussion about evaluation and distant education in Brazil
