RESUMO
Analyze the antecedents of loyalty and permanence of students in undergraduate courses in an Institutions Higher Education (IES) is the goal of this research. To this it is proposed to test two theoretical models of the determinants of loyalty and permanence of students at university. The study design was descriptive method with quantitative, assess or survey. The instrument of data collection the questionnaire was structured in two parts. In the first part, the variables of type quantitative form operationalized with Liker type scale, the second on the profile of the sample, variables like quality and quantity. The study population were students of undergraduate courses at Universidade Regional de Blumenau - FURB, being a non-probability sample selection or by deliberate rational and participated in the study: 81 students from the Pedagogy Course, 42 Letters Course, 212 Chemical Engineering Course and 80 students from the Countable Sciences Course. The period of time was transverse, in the first period of 2009. The results had evidenced that students, in its majority, correspond to the feminine sort, being unmarried, with a mean age of 21 years. Around 50.0% have a personal income between 1 and 3 minimum wages and 24.5% of them declare not to be acting professionally. The method of analysis was Structural Equation Modeling - SEM. Of the considered antecedents as explicators of Loyalty, Satisfaction with the choice of the course, interpersonal Quality of perceived education, interpersonal relations, and perceived value of student confidence in the institution showed no significant direct relationship with Allegiance. Thus, satisfaction with the IES, Reputation / image of the IES social marketing and emotional commitment to the institution, in that order, were the main exponents of the direct Loyalty. These three variables, accompanied by their connections, explained 68.4% of loyalty. Interact indirectly with the constructs Loyalty Attitude Coordination and Teachers teaching quality perceived by students, Perceived Learning, Student Confidence in the institution and Perceived Value. From the previous proposed as predictors of Residence, interpersonal relations, satisfaction with the choice of course, meeting expectations, satisfaction with student / self efficacy and personal and professional life did not show any direct correlation with the Permanency. However, the Student Commitment to their Personal Goals, Satisfaction with the IES and Financial Favorable, in that order, were the main exponents of direct Permanency. These three variables, accompanied by their connections, explained 61.2% of the Permanency. Interact indirectly with the Permanency constructs Perceived Learning, Access to Infrastructure and Attitude of Teachers and Coordination. These results confirm the performance of the technique of SEM. The two models had been validated used, and, however, there is continuity in the survey. Final Considerations, research limitations and suggestions for future research are part of the final stage of work
