RESUMO

The purpose of this study is to evaluate if the index of cellular proliferation expressed by Ki67 using MIB 1 antibody shows any difference between the Hodgkinâs Lymphoma subtypes and if so, it can be used to help this diagnosis and categorization in each different subgroups of this disease. The material for this study was collected from the file of Departamento de Patologia do Hospital do Cancer de Pernambuco. There were selected 53 cases of lymph node biopsy that had a previous diagnosis of Hodgkinâs Lymphoma. Age and gender are not considered in this study. We did a review of H&E slides and immunohistochemistry reaction using a MIB 1 antibody (anti-Ki 67) that is express by proliferant cells that are in all phases of the cellular cycle, except the G-0 phase. The MIB 1 is considered a âgold-standardâ of cell proliferation marker. None characteristic pattern of Ki67 expression using MIB 1 antibody was noted in any subgroup of Hodgkinâs Lymphoma in this study and it doesnât seem to help to subclassify this entity. It is recommended to do immunohistochemistry reaction using CD 15, CD 30, CD 20, EMA and ALK in all case of suspicious for Hodgkinâs Lymphoma. They can in combination with the histological findings make a final diagnosis and exclude the differential diagnosis with others entities
