RESUMO

Due to difficulty in introducing new technologies in the agricultural sector, more specifically the Technology of the Information (IT), this study searched to identify the factors that had contributed for the process of adoption of systems of information in agricultural companies, as well as the motivations, the resistance, the decurrent impacts of this adoption and as they are being strategically used. It is had as study objects six situated coffee companies in the south region of Minas Gerais who had adopted two types of IT. This study it was carried through in three stages: 1) theoretical revision on adoption, impacts and resistance of technology and consolidation of the theoretical model of analysis; 2) survey of the description of the organizations in study and its organization structure by means of comments, documenty analysis and interviews with responsible for the area of computer science and the general director; 3) interviews with directors and controlling to clarify the reasons that had taken them to adopt thye SIs. After the comparison of the studied cases conclude that: the main reason of the entrepreneurs for the adoption of the Tis was to improve the management of costs of the company, as well as curing the problems occurred in the last processes of computerization; the stages of the adoption of the Tis in study are knowledge, persuaÃÃo, decision, implementation and confirmation; the short organization structure, the reduced number of administrative employees and the methodology of adoption of the Tis contributed so that the resistance to the adoption process were the possible minims; the factors that had made it difficult the adoption process are categorized in financial limitation of the entrepreneurs, low formation of the operators, lack of technological resources, incompatibility of schedules between Instructor and the employees of the companies for training accomplishment, complexity of software Management, contractual relation, exchange of operators during the implantation and inefficiency of the old Instructor; already the impacts are dimensionados in scope of the structure, of the processes and of the individuals and finally little was identified that the coffee entrepreneurs use the TIs dominant aiming at economic ends and in productive controls, or no use is directed to the formularization of strategies.
