RESUMO

This study aimed to analyze Developing Strategies In Small in the municipalities of the north coast of Santa Catarina, according to the types of Mintzberg (1973), Quinn (1978) and Idenburg (1993). In the theoretical approaches used in the work related to the generic strategies of Ansoff (1977) and Porter (1997), and studies related to the stakeholders of Stonner and Freeman (1985) and Frooman (1999), to achieve this goal. The mode of development strategy was the predominant enterprise, followed by incremental, as the generic strategy of differentiation was predominant, followed by leadership in the total cost. We also noticed that three stakeholders of the internal and four external environment could employ strategies of influence in order to undermine the strategic decisions these organizations. The lack of studies in small commercial enterprises employing the combination of these three types justifies the study. The work, predominantly quantitative trait was held searched through 148 small businesses in the commercial sector, between 2005 and 2009. Held associations, through the use of the contingency coefficient, and the analysis of variance between the three approaches. The results showed an average association between market segments and generic strategies. The association between the generic strategy and mode of development of strategy was not associated, is, both are independent. Another association was between the generic strategies and strategies to influence stakeholders. The results suggest little or even no difference between employment or not of generic strategies by small businesses, and the likelihood of receiving influence strategies stakeholders. The relationship between the means of production and market segment suggested a significant association with the modes of development. The association between influence strategies that stakeholders can use and modes of development indicated that an association exists between variables. The association between modes of development strategy and activity time indicated that there is a significant association, which seems to indicate that the modes are associated with an act of the strategists of the firm. Another association was made between stakeholder and degree of education of respondents, the results suggest that the greater the degree of training of the respondent, the more he realizes the influence of the stakeholder. The last analysis tested the existence of a relationship between strategy, methods of preparation and stakeholders, analysis of variance showed no relationship between the three approaches, however, statistically the results indicated that one should not reject the hypothesis that there is an association. This study presents no evidence to say that adopting a method of manufacture of generic strategy or strategic can secure a competitive advantage for these companies in relation to its competitors. Data from these companies seem to emphasize the need that we must use more than one variable when the analysis in small businesses
