A formação do aluno e sua atuação na disciplina Prática Clínica Supervisionada no curso de fisioterapia - FURB

RESUMO

The objective of this work is to know and to make explicit factors in the educational process of the Physiotherapy Course at Universidade Regional de Blumenau (FURB), which may interfere in the professional acting. The practical subject of study, called Supervised Therapeutical Practices (STP), and developed in the last two semesters, were taken as focus. Data were obtained by means of semi structured interviews, observations, and the study history from students of the 8th and 9th semester, that have attended the mentioned subjects of study in the years 2002 and 2003. The research was carried out in three stages: The Education of the Physiotherapist and the Teaching Research Map, the Map Drawn to Known the Student Profile, and the Analyses Integration, based on the subject related theory. The data analysis shows that part of the students does not have a systemic view of the patient; that the grade means of the theoretical subjects of study do not influence the practical acting; and that the knowledge and the mastery of the specific contents in physiotherapy is essential for the professional acting. This may be a consequence of the fragmentized course curriculum, based on the presupposition that theoretical learning precedes the practical one; the subjects are not integrated. Furthermore, the students do not assume that their education does not depend exclusively upon the institution, but that it is their responsibility too; this demands their initiative in order to obtain knowledge to, thus, modify their practical acting.
