The occurrence of Apiforms (Hymenoptera) in fragments of Atlantic Rainforest and ecological responses for sustainable use.
The high species richness of the Atlantic and Amazon rainforests places Brazil as one of the most important repositories of biological diversity worldwide. Unfortunately, some of these protected areas were rapidly degraded. Deforestation, cattle and agriculture expansion, the spread of exotic species are listed as key factors that mitigate the environmental.

38. Estimativa dos parâmetros de distribuição e profundidade do sistema radicular pela calibração de modelos micrometeorológicos aplicação à floresta tropical Amazônica / Estimate parameters of distribution and depth of the root system for the calibration of the micrometeorological models application to the Amazon rainforest

39. Attraction of Chagas disease vectors (Triatominae) to artificial light sources in the canopy of primary Amazon rainforest
Adult triatomines occasionally fly into artificially lit premises in Amazonia. This can result in Trypanosoma cruzi transmission to humans either by direct contact or via foodstuff contamination, but the frequency of such behaviour has not been quantified. To address this issue, a light-trap was set 45 m above ground in primary rainforest near Manaus, state

40. Interespecific variation in the composition of volatile oils from the leaves of Swietenia macrophylla King (Meliaceae)
The volatile oils from leaves of five Brazilian specimens of Swietenia macrophylla King (Meliaceae) collected in three different Amazon Rainforest Conservation Areas in the States of Mato Grosso, Pará, and Rondônia were extracted and analyzed by GC and GC/MS. The oils showed to be composed by terpenoids, majority hydrocarbon sesquiterpenes, being germacren

A partir dessa motivação,

The objectives of this study were to determine the effect of the rainfall pattern on growth and leaf gas exchange in saplings of ten tree species in a terra-firma rainforest of Central Amazonia. I also studied the effect of diurnal variation on photosynthetic rates (A), and the relationship between A and growth rates of saplings. The study was conducted at t

45. GENÉTICA, DISTRIBUIÇÃO E CONSERVAÇÃO DO GAVIÃO-REAL (Harpia harpyja) NO BRASIL
The harpy eagle occurs in the forests of the Neotropical region; it is widely distributed in Brazil where its occurrence has been principally registered in the Amazonian and Atlantic rainforests. Between these two biomes exists a corridor of open vegetation with forest connections where this species has also been registered. Brazilian forests have been drast

46. Tamanho de parcelas para quantificação de biomassa e carbono em uma floresta ombrófila densa na Mata Atlântica / Size of fragments for the quantification of biomass and carbon in a thick ombrophilous rainforest in Mata Atlântica
Rainforest is defined as a vegetable formation which takes up a large part of the Brazilian territory, from the Amazon Rainforest to the forests of the highlands of the southern states of Brazil, going through the Atlantic Forest. Due to the type of colonization Brazil had , which was a colonization of exploitation, a large part of this forest was destroyed,

Dendrocronologia de árvores de mogno, Swietenia macrophylla King., Meliaceae, ocorrentes na floresta tropical Amazônica do Departamento de Madre de Dios, Peru / Dendrochronology of the mahogany trees, Swietenia macrophylla King., Meliaceae, occurring in the Amazon Rainforest of the Department of Madre de Dios, Peru
Studies in phenology and wood anatomy show a cyclical development and growth related to climatic conditions (temperature and rainfall) and site characteristics (competence, light, water storage in the soil, etc.), the sensibility to these factors results, for some tree species, in seasonality of cambium activity and formation of annual tree-rings. This chara

48. Uso de imagens ALOS/PALSAR multipolarizadas para detecção de incremento de desflorestamento na Amazônia / Use of multipolarized ALOS/PALSAR image for detection of increment of deforestation in the Amazon
The Amazon forest is a region of rainforest, which has about 5,4 million square kilometers, and with great biodiversity of species on the planet. However, its traditional model of occupation has lead to significant levels of increase of deforestation in the brazilian Legal Amazon. Through remote sensing, these areas can be constantly monitored, offering rate
