1. Ultrasound evaluation of obstructive uropathy and its hemodynamic responses in southwest Nigeria
ABSTRACT Purpose: To determine the renal arterial hemodynamic changes induced by obstructive uropathy using Doppler ultrasonography.
Materials and Methods: 60 adult subjects with suspected obstructive uropathy and 60 asymptomatic apparently healthy controls with normal renal ultrasound featur

2. Can Doppler or contrast-enhanced ultrasound analysis add diagnostically important information about the nature of breast lesions?
OBJECTIVES: Despite evidence suggesting that Doppler ultrasonography can help to differentiate between benign and malignant breast lesions, it is rarely applied in clinical practice. The aim of this study was to determine whether certain vascular features of breast masses observed by duplex Doppler and color Doppler ultrasonography (before and/or after micr

3. Mapeamento dúplex-Doppler colorido na avaliação da eficácia do Laser de baixa intensidade para o tratamento da tireoidite crônica autoimune: ensaio clínico randomizado placebo-controlado / Color Doppler ultrasonography in the evaluation of efficacy of the low-intensity Laser therapy of chronic autoimmune thyroiditis: placebo-controlled randomized clinical trial

4. Análise do fluxo volumétrico arterial e obtenção do índice fêmoro-axilar com mapeamento dúplex / Femoral axillary volume flow ratio as a new index for the assessment of iliac atheriosclerosis

5. Doppler sonographic evaluation of varicoceles / Avaliação ultrassonográfica ao duplex Doppler colorido da varicocele
INTRODUCTION: Varicocele is the dilatation of the veins of the pampiniform plexus of the testicle. The association between varicocele and infertility is diagnosed in 20 to 40% of the infertile men. Currently, in the ultrasound study of varicocele, the diameter of the veins is carried through with the patient in the supine position, before and during the Vals

6. Correlation between magnetic resonance and duplex color sonography in diagnosis of deep venous thrombosis in lower limbs / Correlação entre a ressonância magnética e a ultra-sonografia com duplex scan colorido no diagnóstico da trombose venosa profunda dos membros inferiores
Deep venous thrombosis is a disease that occurs in deep venous system, with thrombi formation into a vein, and consequent vascular inflammatory reaction. This thrombus can determine partial or total vascular occlusion. It occurs mostly in the lower limbs and pelvis. Clinical presentation is usually acute, but may also be chronic with relapses. In most cases,

Avaliação do leito arterial distal em revascularização de membros inferiores: estudo comparativo entre ecografia-doppler, arteriografia e medidas diretas de fluxo no intra-operatório / Color-flow duplex hemodynamic assessment of runoff in ischemic lower limb revascularization: a comparative study among preoperative duplex scanning, arteriography and intraoperative direct out flow measurements
The clinical indications and the surgical technique regarding arterial revascularization in patients with critical lower limb ischemia have been thoroughly studied and well determined in the literature. However, a considerable number of grafts evolutes to occlusion even nowadays. Among the factors known to contribute to early graft failure the resistance of

9. Avaliação da extensão da oclusão arterial na isquemia crônica de membros inferiores: estudo comparativo da ecografia com Doppler colorido e da arteriografia / Assessment of the arterial occlusion extension in the lower extremity chronic ischemia: a comparative study of the duplex ultrasound and the arteriography
Arteriography is an invasive method of imaging the vascular system that allows assessment of the intraluminal characteristics of the arteries. It detects minimal arterial wall changes with intravascular injections of contrast agents. Dispite significant advances in lasts decades, some pitfalls remain in determining the extension of arterial occlusions and th

10. Medida do volume venoso nas pernas com us-duplex em pacientes com e sem varizes
Chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs leads to a gradual increase in the volume of venous blood in the limb. This volume is directly related to the duration and severity of the venous insufficiency, and to the ability of the calf muscle to remove blood from this compartment. The venous volume of the leg is traditionally measured by pneumoplethysmog

11. Popliteal Artery Entrapment Syndrome: Diagnosis and Management, with Report of Three Cases
Popliteal artery entrapment syndrome is an important albeit infrequent cause of serious disability among young adults and athletes with anomalous anatomic relationships between the popliteal artery and surrounding musculotendinous structures. We report our experience with 3 patients, in whom we used duplex ultrasonography, computed tomography, digital subtra

12. Implantation of Cryopreserved Allograft Pulmonary Monocusp Patch: to Treat Nonthrombotic Femoral Vein Incompetence
We implanted cryopreserved allograft monocusp patches made from cadaveric pulmonary arteries to correct nonthrombotic valvular insufficiency of the common femoral vein in patients with chronic venous ulcers. Thirty-eight patients with 40 ulcers of longer than 3 years' duration underwent valvular repair of the common femoral vein from September 1995 through N
