1. Puls method for events simulation in a lot scale bioretention device

2. Developing novel one-step processes for obtaining food-grade O/W emulsions from pressurized fluid extracts: processes description, state of the art and perspectives
Abstract In this work, a novel on-line process for production of food-grade emulsions containing oily extracts, i.e. oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions, in only one step is presented. This process has been called ESFE, Emulsions from Supercritical Fluid Extraction. With this process, emulsions containing supercritical fluid extracts can be obtained directly from p

3. Extensional viscosity measurements of concentrated emulsions with the use of the opposed nozzles device
This paper presents results of experimental studies on the apparent extensional viscosity of emulsions. The apparent extensional viscosity measurements were carried out with the use of a customized rheometer which utilizes stagnation flow between two opposing nozzles. Apparent extensional viscosity was determined for emulsions containing 60, 70 and 74 vol.%

4. PIC simulation study of a 35 GHz, 200 kW Gyroklystron
A three-dimensional PIC simulation of a 35 GHz, 200 kW two cavity gyroklystron amplifier has been performed to study the electron beam and RF wave interaction behavior using a commercial PIC code 'MAGIC'. The electromagnetic field analysis of the RF structure in the absence of the electron beam and beam-wave interaction study in the presence of the electron

5. Espectroscopia ultrarrápida do polímero semicondutor luminescente MEH-PPV com excitação no ultravioleta / Ultrafast spectroscopy of the luminescent semiconducting polymer MEH-PPV with ultraviolet excitation
The optoelectronics industry is currently undergoing a transition period in which inorganic materials are being replaced by organic materials, oligomers and polymers, in the fabrication of some types of devices. However, factors such as low efficiency and low lifetime prevent polymer based devices on entering the market definitely. The solution of these issu

6. Evaluating the effect of soil flushing with surfactant on the biodegradation of soil contaminated by diesel oil. / Avaliação do efeito da lavagem com surfactante na biodegradação de um solo contaminado por óleo diesel.
Diesel fuel is one of the most petroleum derivates consumed in Brazil and responsible with large numbers of contaminated areas. While there are consecrated techniques for the removal of diesel oil-free phases, vapor and dissolved, the solutions to remove the residual phase still need greater efficiency and/or lower cost. This work shows the results of a labo

7. In situ anticariogenic effect of conventional glass ionomer cement by dentrifice dependence / Efeito anticariogênico de cimento de ionômero de vidro convencional pela dependência de dentrifício: estudo "in situ"
The aim of this study was to assess in situ anticaries potential of conventional glass ionomer cement (GIC) to prevent enamel and dentine demineralization either alone or in combination with a fluoride (F) regimen. A randomized, blind, crossover design for caries induction was carried out in 2 phases of 14 days each. This study was a 2 x 2 cross-over factori

8. AN ANALYSIS OF THE DROP BREAKUP PROCESS IN AN OIL IN WATER EMULSION FLOWING TETWEEN PARALLEL DISKS / ANÁLISE DO PROCESSO DE QUEBRA DE GOTAS DE UMA EMULSÃO ÓLEO-ÁGUA NO ESCOAMENTO ENTRE DISCOS PARALELOS
Oil production is usually associated with the production of water, which may be found as a continuous phase or as a dispersed phase, in emulsions. Emulsions may be found in almost all the production stages: in reservoirs, production wells, production facilities, pipelines, in processing and in storage. The Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) is one of the method

9. Estudo de materiais, estruturas de dispositivos e fenômenos de transporte em sistemas fotovoltaicos híbridos orgânico-inorgânico / Study of materials, device structures and transport phenomena in hybrid photovoltaic systems
Recently a fast development in organic and hybrid photovoltaic field has been observed. Such devices are fabricated by organic semiconductors within components of a heterojunction, in which bulk heterojunctions obtained via interpenetrating networks at the sub-20-nm length scale. It permits the effective collection of photogenerated charge carriers even with

10. Projeto de filtros tipo "só-pólo" para malhas de sincronismo de fase de alta frequência. / Design of all-pole filters for high frequency phase locked loops.
The evolution of communication systems is discussed, with emphasis on optical technology. Special consideration is given to the continuous need for increasing the capacity of such systems, and the impact over future optical communication. In view of the great demands imposed over the capacity of future optical systems, an overview is presented of two recent

11. Three cell flying capacitor inverter for dielectric barrier discharge plasma applications
It is reported the design, construction and initial tests of a three cell flying capacitor inverter (TCFCI) in a half-bridge configuration. The device operates at a 200 kHz frequency which leads to a voltage output at 12.5 kHz presenting an acceptable response in an open-loop configuration. These features outdo those reported in the current multilevel conver
