1. Termalização e correlações quânticas nos contextos de sistemas quânticos abertos e cadeias de spins
In this thesis, we study the behavior of Quantum Discord in the contexts of open quantum systems and spin chains. Furthermore, we investigate the thermalization process of a spin chain due to interaction with the environment. First, we present a review on the concept of quantum correlation, beginning with the first ideas on non-locality, and leading to the m

2. Simulação da dinâmica do estado excitado em semicondutores orgânicos / Simulation of the excited state dynamics in organic semiconductors
In the present work, the Monte Carlo method and the direct numerical integration of the Master Equation were employed to simulate the excitation spectral diffusion process in light emitting polymeric systems. The methodology employed a competition among the internal intra-molecular relaxation, the inter-molecular incoherent energy transfer via Förster mecha

3. Magneto luminescência em diodos de tunelamento ressonante contendo pontos quânticos de InAs
In this work, we have studied the spin polarization of carriers in n-type resonant tunneling diodes (RTDs) of GaAs/AlGaAs which incorporates a single layer of InAs selfassembled quantum dots in the center of the GaAs quantum well (QW) grown on (3 1 1)B oriented GaAs substrates. We have performed electrical and optical measurements in the presence and absence

4. Langevin dynamics of the deconfinement transition for pure gauge theory
We investigate the effects of dissipation in the deconfinement transition for pure SU(2) and SU(3) gauge theories. Using an effective theory for the order parameter, we study its Langevin evolution numerically. Noise effects are included for the case of SU(2). We find that both dissipation and noise have dramatic effects on the spinodal decomposition of the

5. Partonic equation of state in relativistic heavy ion collisions
Recent results on chemical freeze-out, elliptic flow v2 and multi-strange hadron transverse momentum distributions are discussed and compared with model predictions. The idea of heavy flavor collectivity and light flavor thermalization is presented in the light of recent heavy flavor measurement at RHIC.

6. Gluon dominance model and cluster production
Multiparticle production in lepton and hadron processes is studied by means of the Gluon Dominance Model (GDM) which is based on the Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) and phenomenological scheme of hadronization. The model describes the multiplicity distributions and their moments very well. It has revealed an active role of gluons in multiparticle production and

7. Comparison among HB-inspired algorithms for continuous-spin systems and gauge fields
We propose a new local algorithm for the thermalization of n-vector spin models, which can also be used in the numerical simulation of SU(N) lattice gauge theories. The algorithm combines heat-bath (HB) and micro-canonical updates in a single step - as opposed to the hybrid overrelaxation method, which alternates between the two kinds of update steps - while

8. Dissipação, termalização e descoerencia via acoplamento caotico / Dissipation, thermalization and decoherence through chaotic coupling
We study here how and under which conditions a chaotic system with only two degrees of freedom can produce irreversible phenomena such as dissipation, thermalization and, from the quantum point of view, decoherence in a simple system coupled to it. In the classical formulation of the problem, we describe analytically the behavior of the energy ux in Linear R

9. STM light emission spectroscopy of individual quantum wells: measurement of transport parameters in real space
By spectroscopically analyzing the light emitted from the tip-sample gap of the scanning tunneling microscope (STM), we have investigated the carrier transport as well as the luminescence properties of AlGaAs/GaAs quantum wells (QW's). The emission intensity form a target well was measured as a function of the tip position on a cleaved (110) surface of the Q

10. Dinamica de portadores e fonons quentes no GaAs
We develop a theoretical model for the electronic thermal relaxation in GaAs crystals submitted to ultrashort optical pulses. We give special consideration to the LO phonons, which are treated by means of two distinct approaches in order to provide a better insight of their dynamical characteristics. As a result, it is possible to follow, step by step, the t

11. Estudo de fenomonos ultra-rapidos
In this work process of ultrashort light pulses generation from a colliding pulse modelocked laser was studied. A model was developed wick explains how a frequency sweep is generated in the pulse on propagation through the saturable absorber. Using this laser, the hot carrier thermalization time in a electrodeposited CdSe film was measured in a pump and prob

12. Aquecimento do plasma por radio frequencia na maquina linear lisa
We show in this work the characteristics of an experimental device assembled in the Instituto de Física, Universidade Federal Flurninense (Linear Mirror Type Machine LISA) to produce Helium plasma by RF and to study its behavior when confined by a magnetic field with mirrors. The plasma was produced by a micro-wave generator of, fRF = 2.45 GHz, PRF = 800 Wa
