RESUMO

In this work process of ultrashort light pulses generation from a colliding pulse modelocked laser was studied. A model was developed wick explains how a frequency sweep is generated in the pulse on propagation through the saturable absorber. Using this laser, the hot carrier thermalization time in a electrodeposited CdSe film was measured in a pump and probe experiment as well. This time was found to vary from 300 fs to 1.5 ps as the density of injected carriers increased from 6 x 1016 cm-3 to 4,7 x 1018cm-3. To describe our data a model was proposed. This model includes sreening of the Coulomb interaction and line broadening of the spectral distribution of electrons which increases with the carrier-carrier scattering rate
