1. Adsorption of Calcium(II), Cadmium(II) and Copper(II) Ions from Water by Prepared Silicon-Aluminum-Zirconium Oxide Using Sol-Gel Process
Ternary oxide silica-alumina-zirconia (SiO2/Al2O3/ZrO2) obtained by the sol-gel process was applied as novel adsorbent of ions in aqueous solution. Batch isotherms were performed using standard CuII, CdII and CaII solutions at variable pH and different concentrations. Adsorption capacity was best at weakly acidic pH. The maximum adsorption capacities were 2.

2. A Mathematical Model for Simulating Meteor Showers

4. Processing of large offset data: experimental seismic line from Tenerife Field, Colombia
ABSTRACT: Exploration seismology provides the main source of information about the Earth’s subsurface, which in many cases can be presented as a simple model of horizontal or near-horizontal layers. After the seismic acquisition step, conventional seismic processing of reflection data provides an image of the subsurface by using information about the refle

5. Space Propulsion: a Survey Study About Current and Future Technologies
ABSTRACT: Current Space Launch Vehicles use chemical reactions (solid and liquid propellants) to achieve sufficient thrust to launch artifacts and humans into space. Propulsion technologies can be framed in three different categories: "escape propulsion", "in-space propulsion", and "deep space propulsion". The launch vehicles currently used for "escape propu

6. Unscented Kalman Filter for Determination of Spacecraft Attitude Using Different Attitude Parameterizations and Real Data
ABSTRACT The non-linear estimators are certainly the most important algorithms applied to real problems, especially those involving the attitude estimation of spacecraft. The purpose of this paper was to use real data of sensors to analyze the behavior of Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) in attitude estimation problems when it is represented in different ways a

7. The Performative Force of Bodies: Affective Realism in Contemporary Brazilian Cinema
AbstractThis article traces the emergence of a younger generation of Brazilian filmmakers whose works bypass traditional themes in Brazilian cinema such as urban violence and historical revisionism to engage in post-identity politics avoiding narratives of nation, class and gender. One of the most prominent features in these recent works is a questioning of

8. Picosatellites for Maritime Security Applications - the Lambdasat Case
ABSTRACT: This study explores the potential deployment of small satellites for maritime interdiction and security applications by investigating the available solutions and formulating a generic proposal to optimize the use of those short-lived space assets in support of these operations. The operational background is analyzed with respect to the potential us

9. Efficiency-Multimission Comprehensiveness Balance for Platform-Based Satellite Family
ABSTRACT: This paper aims to present the Comprehensiveness Balance for Efficiency (CBfE) method for Platform-Based Satellite Family. The lack of a penalty measurement to assess the performance loss of using a platform could reduce significantly the family performance. The method, taking into account the comprehensiveness of space missions and the platform ch

10. Estimación del tiempo de iluminación solar sobre la tierra mediante un modelo analítico: un escenario fértil para enseñar física
We proposed an analytical model for the calculus of illumination time of the Earth for any time of year and any latitude. This model assumes the obliquity of the ecliptic as constant, the light beams as parallels, the Earth as spherical, the movement of translation of Earth as uniform circular. Also, this model showed a context of the astronomy whereby the t

11. A superaventura: da narratividade e sua expressividade à sua potencialidade teológica
A theological reading of the superadventure genre from the perspective of the role of narrative in the creation and maintenance of the human world through the approach of its media aspects, its primary conventions and its mythic structure, considered its historical and critical background. The first part recalls the historical trajectory of the superadventur

Anthropogenic Dark Earth (ADE) is considered one of the world\ s most fertile soils and receives this name because it originated from human action, probably by pre-Columbian populations who lived in these archaeological sites. Because of the common trend in agriculture towards sustainability antibiotic-producing bacteria is an alternative for biocontrol to p
