13. Use of microsatellites for evaluation of genetic diversity in cherry tomato
ABSTRACT Much of the diversity of tomato is found in wild forms, the most important being the Solanum lycopersicum L. var. cerasiforme and S. pimpinellifolium. The objective of this research was to assess the genetic diversity of 30 introductions of cherry tomato with 36 microsatellite molecular markers. The study was conducted at the Plant Transformation Re

14. The Use of DRIS for Nutritional Diagnosis in Oil Palm in the State of Pará
ABSTRACT The oil palm crop has expanded significantly in the state of Pará, which has not been followed in a proportional manner by studies aiming at increasing yield through plant nutrition. The objective of this study was to evaluate general and specific norms of the Diagnosis and Recommendation Integrated System (DRIS) for genetic materials of oil palm (

15. Contribution of WUSCHEL-related homeobox (WOX) genes to identify the phylogenetic relationships among Petunia species
Abstract Developmental genes are believed to contribute to major changes during plant evolution, from infrageneric to higher levels. Due to their putative high sequence conservation, developmental genes are rarely used as molecular markers, and few studies including these sequences at low taxonomic levels exist. WUSCHEL-related homeobox genes (WOX) are trans

16. Genetic variation and gain in progenies of crambe
Abstract The objective of this study was to estimate the genetic variability of a Brazilian cultivar of crambe, as well as to estimate the genetic gain, with selection focusing on grain yield in crambe. Eighty two progenies were selected within the FMS Brilhante cultivar in 2009. The progenies were evaluated in 2010 and 2011 in Botucatu and São Manuel, Sao

17. Agronomic evaluation of 'Bordô' grapevine (Ives) clones
'Bordô' grapevines (Vitis labrusca) have great relevance to viticulture due to the quality they can impart to wines and juices. However, this cultivar has high variation in yield, ranging from 6 to 11 t ha-1. The use of clones with superior genetic potential related to scions currently marketed may increase crop profitability and revitalize its cultivation.

18. Genetic variation in cultivated Rheum tanguticum populations
To examine whether cultivation reduced genetic variation in the important Chinese medicinal plant Rheum tanguticum, the levels and distribution of genetic variation were investigated using ISSR markers. Fifty-eight R. tanguticum individuals from five cultivated populations were studied. Thirteen primers were used and a total of 320 DNA bands were scored. Hig

19. Métodos para resgate, conservação e multiplação em larga escala de matrizes de Eucalyptus benthamii Maiden &Cambage / Methods for rescue, conservation and multiplication of matrices Eucalyptus benthamii Maiden &Cambege
The E. benthamii presents a great aptitude for cultivation in Brazil, especially in cold climates and with frequent frosts, this is due to your west of Sydney origin in Australia, where temperatures are very low, with frosts. Taking into account their optimal silvicultural performance, selected genotypes will certainly represent an excellent alternative for

20. Resposta de genótipos de citros à leprose e variabilidade genética da ORF p29 do vírus da leprose dos citros C (CiLV-C) / Response of citrus genotypes to leprosis and genetic variability of ORF p29 from Citrus leprosis virus C (CiLV-C)
Viruses have, potentially, broad genetic variability because of their need to adapt to several changes that they are exposed to. Therefore, genetic variability is essential for their survival; it is the first step to adapt to a new host, to break resistance down, to change symptoms and virulence, which justifies the interest in studies in this area. These st

21. Determinação da composição de bases AT e GC por citometria de fluxo em abelhas / Determination of the AT GC base composition by flow cytometry in bees
The genomic size determination and AT GC base composition should be considered an important factor in the analysis to genetic material characterization, or even in studies of molecular biology and phylogenetic interpretations. Flow cytometry has emerged as a tool for quantification of DNA content and characterization of base composition in many plant and ani

22. Genetic diversity based on morphological data in Panicum maximum hybrids
The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the genetic divergence between hybrids obtained from 10 sexual genitors of the Panicum maximum breeding program at Embrapa Beef Cattle. For this, the following morphological descriptors were used: plant height, growth habit, leaf aspect, leaf waxiness, hair density on the sheath (DePB) and blade (DePL), degree

23. Variabilidade e divergência genética em cruzamentos dialélicos de soja / Variability and genetic divergence in soybean diallel crosses
Estimates of genetic divergence (DG) have not been used for parental selection in breeding programs, because of the inconsistence of the results. The objective of this study was to evaluate the possibility of predicting the genetic variability (VG) of soybean populations derived from two-way crosses, using DG data from AFLP markers (Bonato et al., 2006), and

24. Epistasia para a produção de grãos e caracteres da planta em milho / Epistasis for yield and plant traits in maize
It is known that epistasis may have important effects in the populations dynamics and in the evolutionary process of the species, and that it is involved in manifestation of important biological phenomena, such as overdominance, inbreeding depression and heterosis. However, epistasis is considered one of the more complex aspects of quantitative genetics sinc
