1. Untersuchungen zur Gattung und Metrik der Dionysos-Dithyrambe „Letzter Wille“ von Fr. Nietzsche
Abstract This paper analyses Nietzsche’s Dionysus-Dithyramb “Letzter Wille” with regard to characteristics of the genre “hymn”, of which the dithyramb can be considered a subgenre. 2. ADAMTS proteoglycanases downregulation with impaired oocyte quality in PCOS
ABSTRACT Objective: A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 4 (ADAMTS-4) and ADAMTS-5 normal expression levels are essential for ovulation and subsequent fertilization. The objective of the present study was to assess expression pattern of these genes in cumulus cells (CCs) taken from patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and

3. Non-random distribution of microsatellite motifs and (TTAGGG)n repeats in the monkey frog Pithecopus rusticus (Anura, Phyllomedusidae) karyotype
Abstract The monkey frog, Pithecopus rusticus (Anura, Phyllomedusidae) is endemic to the grasslands of the Araucarias Plateau, southern Brazil. This species is known only from a small population found at the type locality. Here, we analyzed for the first time the chromosomal organization of the repetitive sequences, including seven microsatellite repeats and

4. Genome-Wide Assessment of Putative Superoxide Dismutases in Unicellular and Filamentous Cyanobacteria
Abstract Cyanobacteria are photoautotrophic prokaryotes capable to grow in diverse ecological habitats, originated 2.5-3.5 billion years ago and were first to produce oxygen. Since then superoxide dismutases (SOD) acquired great significance due to their ability to catalyze detoxification of byproducts of oxygenic photosynthesis i.e. superoxide radicals. In

5. REVISITING THE NUCLEOPHILICITY CONCEPT IN A COMPREHENSIVE BIOMASS VALORIZATION EXPERIMENT: FROM PAPAYA SEEDS TO THIOUREA MOTIFS
The recovery of waste materials with potential for synthetic transformations is a major field in science. However, just few experiments have been devoted to undergraduate students by exploring some consistent subjects in light of simple, natural resources. Nucleophilicity is a central subject in chemistry and there are significant synthetic models to exploit

6. Chemical diversity and activity profiles of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase inhibitors from plants
Abstract Current challenges to antiretroviral therapy have opened new vistas in the search for novel drugs from natural products. This review focusses on plants as sources of inhibitors for human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) reverse transcriptase. Based on a systematic search of the literature, anti-HIV-1 reverse transcriptase activity was recorded

8. [PROVISIONAL] Genetic evidence for a species complex within the piranha Serrasalmus maculatus (Characiformes, Serrasalmidae) from three Neotropical River basins based on mitochondrial DNA sequences
Abstract Mitochondrial molecular markers (DNA sequences of D-loop, cytochrome b and cytochrome c oxidase I) were employed to characterize populations of the piranha Serrasalmus maculatus from Upper Paraná, Upper Paraguay and Tocantins River basins. D-loop sequences of S. maculatus population from Paraná-Paraguay River basin exhibited tandem repeats of shor

11. In Silico Characterization of Meloidogyne Genus Nematode Cellulose Binding Proteins
Abstract Root-knot nematodes are a group of endoparasites species that induce the formation of giant cells in the hosts, by which they guarantee their feeding and development. Meloidogyne species infect over 2000 plant species, and are highly destructive, causing damage to many crops around the world. M. enterolobii is considered the most aggressive species
