Stream fish assemblages are known to be strongly influenced by channel structure, microhabitat diversity and other habitat characteristics. Nevertheless, the information about these relationships in tropical systems remains scarce, especially for Amazonian streams. We studied nine streamlets located at the Biological Dynamics Forest Fragments Project (BDFFP)

The sustainability of the vegetable extractivism of the rubber has been center of great discussions in the Amazonian region. That activity is considered unviable economically and suffers from inherent technological delay to the culture, besides inferior economical performance to the other activities. Extractives Reserves (RESEX) appear as alternatives of sus

31. Effects of deforestation pattern and private nature reserves on the forest conservation in settlement areas of the Brazilian Amazon

32. A test of alternative models of diversification in tropical rainforests: Ecological gradients vs. rainforest refugia
Comparison of mitochondrial and morphological divergence in eight populations of a widespread leaf-litter skink is used to determine the relative importance of geographic isolation and natural selection in generating phenotypic diversity in the Wet Tropics Rainforest region of Australia. The populations occur in two geographically isolated regions, and withi
