1. Ichthyofauna from floodplain lakes of Reserva de Desenvolvimento Sustentável Piagaçu-Purus (RDS-PP), lower rio Purus

3. Assessment of sábalo (Prochilodus lineatus) fisheries in the lower Paraná River basin (Argentina) based on hydrological, biological, and fishery indicators
This study assesses the change in fish exploitation patterns of the sábalo fisheries of the lower Paraná River basin based on hydrological, biological, and fishery indicators. From historical catch records, we recorded a shift from a lightly and moderate exploited status before 2001 to a heavily exploited one, as a result of the development of sábalo expo

4. Desenvolvimento de um sistema de recirculação com uso de wetlands construídas para efluentes da piscicultura / Development of a recirculating system using constructed wetlands for aquaculture effluents
Global aquaculture has been growing very fast in recent decades due to several factors, including: population growth, demand for low calorie protein and especially the reduction of natural fish stocks. Brazil has enormous potential to become a world leader in fisheries production in captivity. However, the development of aquaculture in Brazil must be conduct

6. Ecology and ethnoecology of dusky grouper [garoupa, Epinephelus marginatus (Lowe, 1834)] along the coast of Brazil
Dusky grouper (garoupa, Epinephelus marginatus) is an important catch for several artisanal smallscale fisheries along the Brazilian coast. It is a sedentary, monandric, and late maturing protogynous species, which makes it vulnerable to overharvesting even though it is mainly caught through hook and line or spear fishing through free diving. Lack of informa

7. Mamíferos marinhos, a atividade de prospecção sísmica e o uso do Sistema de Monitoramento de Mamíferos Marinhos - SIMMAM
Since 1999, a large amount of data on marine mammals sightings has been collected by observers on board during the conduct of seismic surveys in the Brazilian coast. This is one of the mitigating measures adopted to minimize the potential impact that the activity carries on marine species. The information gathered up the necessary documents for the process o

Avaliação do estabelecimento de espécies de cerrado sentido restrito, a partir do plantio direto de sementes na recuperação de uma cascalheira na Fazenda Água Limpa - UnB / Evaluate the establishment of seedlings of four native species of the Cerrado restricted direction, based on the plantation of the seeds direct in the recovery of one old gravel pit in the Fazenda Água Limpa of property of the University of Brasilia
Studies on the recovery of areas degraded for the mining, through the direct sowing still are incipient, however, can supply valuable information on the potential of this methodology, in the reestablishment of a vegetal community in considered environments extreme, with poor and degraded soil. In comparison to the used alternative more, that is with the plan

9. Identificação de novas espécies com potencial para a criação em cativeiro: pescado capturado no estado do Amazonas / Identification of new species with farming potential: fishes captured in the state of Amazonas.
The Amazon region has around 40 species of fishes being explored and commercialized daily, especially in markets and fairs. Fisheries are basically artisanal, directed towards a small number of species, causing the over exploitation of certain fishing stocks. However, some species have certain characteristics for farming, which would help diminish the fishin

The cardinal tetra Paracheirodon axelrodi is the most exported Amazonian characin. Since the mid-1950s, cardinal tetras have been harvested along their natural distribution in the Negro, and the upper Orinoco River drainages and their tributaries in Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela.
