13. Influence of Electrooxidation of Ni Wire Electrodes on the Kinetics of Oxygen Evolution Reaction Studied in 0.1 mol dm-3 NaOH
This work reports on oxygen evolution reaction (OER), studied at nickel wire electrode material. Electrocatalytic behavior of non-oxidized and electrooxidized Ni wire samples was evaluated in 0.1 mol dm-3 NaOH solution for the potential range: 1600-2000 mV vs. RHE. The performance of nickel electrodes was examined by alternating current (a.c.) impedance spec

14. Evaluating the Electrochemical Characteristics of Babassu Coconut Mesocarp Ethanol Produced to Be Used in Fuel Cells
The aim of the present study is to assess the potential of ethanol deriving from the mesocarp of babassu coconut to be used in fuel cells. Babassu ethanol was generated through hydrolysis and fermentation processes. The Pt, PtRh and PtRu electrodes were prepared in carbon Vulcan XC72R through the reduction method and applied as electrocatalysts in ethanol ox

15. Kinetics Oxidation and Characterization of Cyclically Oxidized Layers at High Temperatures for FeMnSiCrNiCe and FeSiCrNi Alloys
Conventional stainless steels are used in cyclic oxidation, but the high amount of Cr and mainly Ni increase the price of these alloys. The objective of the present study was to assess the cyclic oxidation resistance of FeSiCrNi and FeMnSiCrNiCe alloys in comparison to AISI 304 and AISI 310 stainless steels by evaluating the oxidation kinetics and using char

16. Improved NADH Electroanalysis on Nickel(II) Phthalocyanine Tetrasulfonic Acid/Calf Thymus Deoxyribonucleic Acid/Reduced Graphene Oxide Composite
This work describes the electrochemical performance of a novel composite based on nickel tetrasulfonated phthalocyanine (NiTsPc), deoxyribonucleic acid from calf thymus (CT-DNA) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) for the electroanalysis of reduced β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH), through electrocatalytic oxidation. The modified electrode was denote

17. Batch-Injection Amperometric Determination of Pyrogallol in Biodiesel Using a Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotube Modified Electrode
This work demonstrates the application of batch-injection analysis (BIA) with amperometric detection on a multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) modified electrode for the sensitive determination of the antioxidant pyrogallol in biodiesel. Samples were diluted in electrolyte (0.1 mol L-1 HClO4) before injection using an electronic micropipette on the BIA cell.

18. Ethylene glycol oxidation on ternary PtRhNi/C electrocatalyst with different metal compositions
ABSTRACT Direct Alcohol Fuel Cells (DAFC’s) are an alternative to fuel cell systems and when is used alkaline medium this has an increase performance. The alkaline direct alcohol fuel cells (ADAFC's) have some advantages such as low-emission, high energy efficiency, improved oxidation kinetics, low crossover and in addition there is a broad range of materi

19. Ethylene Glycol Electro-Oxidation on Platinum-Free Surfaces: How the Composition of PdRuRh Surfaces Influences the Catalysis
In this work we performed electrochemical (cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperommetry) and spectroelectrochemical studies (in situ Fourier transform infrared (FTIR)) in PdRuRh electrodeposits in acidic media in presence of ethylene glycol (0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 mol L-1). The electrochemical results show that the ethylene glycol oxidation is sensitive to the compos

20. Electrochemical and Quantum Chemical Investigations of the Insecticide Fipronil
This work describes an electrochemical and quantum chemical investigation of the fipronil insecticide. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square wave voltammetry (SWV) experiments were performed over a graphite-polyurethane (GPU) composite electrode. The fipronil molecule presents an one-electron irreversible oxidation reaction. Profiting the SWV signal a square wa

21. High Temperature Oxidation Behavior of Yttrium Dioxide Coated Fe-20Cr Alloy
Long term isothermal and cyclic oxidation behavior of yttrium dioxide (Y2O3) coated Fe-20Cr alloy was studied. Oxidation tests were carried out in air for periods of up to 200 hours at 1000°C and the oxidation behavior of the alloy was evaluated gravimetrically. The Y2O3 coating reduced markedly the mass gain of the alloy. Energy dispersive spectroscopic an

22. Voltammetric Determination of Ethionamide in Pharmaceutical Formulations and Human Urine using a Boron-Doped Diamond Electrode
This work reports a simple and low cost voltammetric approach comprising a boron-doped diamond electrode (BDDE) to determine the antibiotic ethionamide (ETO). Cyclic voltammetry studies revealed that ETO exhibits an irreversible reduction peak at -0.95 V and an irreversible oxidation peak at +1.4 V onto BDDE (vs. saturated Ag/AgCl reference electrode) in Bri

23. ELETRODOS DE FTO MODIFICADOS POR ELETRODEPOSIÇÃO DIRETA DE OURO: PRODUÇÃO, CARACTERIZAÇÃO E APLICAÇÃO COMO SENSOR ELETROQUÍMICO
Chemically modified electrodes have been studied to obtain new and better electrochemical sensors. Transparent conductive oxides, such as fluorine-doped tin-oxide (FTO), shows electrical conductivity comparable to metals and are potential candidates for new sensors. In this work, FTO was modified by gold electrodeposition from chlorine-auric acid solution us

Abstract A novel monomer of S-2-mercaptoethyl 2-(thiophen-3-yl)ethanethioate (MTE) were synthesized via esterification reaction between 2-(thiophen-3-yl)acetic and ethane-1,2-dithiol in the presence of dicyclohexyl-carbodiimide (DCC) and N,N’-dimethylpyridin-4-amine (4-DMAP) as catalytic system. The structure of monomer was characterized via MS, 1H-NMR and
