25. In Situ Formation of Hydroxyapatite During Powder Metallurgy Preparation of Porous Ti/HA Nano Composite: A Candidate for Dental Implants
Porous Ti/HA nano-composite was prepared for implant fixtures and in situ formation of Hydroxyapatite. At first, Ca(OH)2 nanoparticles were synthesized by precipitation. Raw materials included Ca(NO3)2.4H2O, NaOH, a mixture of deionized water and ethanol. Synthesized Ca(OH)2 nano powder was mixed with (NH4)2HPO4 and the mixture was calcined at 700 ºC for 30

26. LIXIVIAÇÃO ÁCIDA DE BATERIAS ÍON-LÍTIO
This paper describes a route for recovering cobalt and lithium from spent Li-ion batteries via acidic leaching. Sulfuric, hydrochloric, hydrofluoric and formic acids were used as leachants. Hydrogen peroxide was added as reductant, except for formic acid since it is itself a reductant. Experiments were run at 25-40 ºC for 1-3 h. Under the best optimal condi

27. Physiochemical and Optical Properties of GdF3:Pr@LaF3@SiO2 Microspheres
The polyol-based co-precipitation process was employed for synthesis of GdF3:Pr (core) and GdF3:Pr@LaF3 (core-shell) microspheres (MSs). Subsequently, an amorphous silica layer was deposited surrounding the core-shell MSs, which was verified from high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) and FTIR results.

28. Effectiveness of Arsenic Co-Precipitation with Fe-Al Hydroxides for Treatment of Contaminated Water
ABSTRACT Wastewater treatment is a challenging problem faced by the mining industry, especially when mine effluents include acid mine drainage with elevated arsenic levels. Iron (hydr)oxides are known to be effective in removal of As from wastewater, and although the resulting compounds are relatively unstable, the presence of structural Al enhances their st

29. Seasonal variation in gas exchange by plants of Erythroxylum simonis Plowman
ABSTRACT Erythroxylum simonisis an understory species found in Northeast Brazil. Due to its shaded habitat,E. simonisis subjected to seasonal oscillations of the environment, to which it must respond ecophysiologically. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of seasonality on the ecophysiology ofE. simonis in a fragment of Seasonal Semidecid

30. AVALIAÇÃO DE ASFALTENOS PRECIPITADOS EM DIFERENTES CONDIÇÕES DE COMPOSIÇÃO, TEMPERATURA E PRESSÃO
Asphaltenes are a heavy fraction of petroleum with the ability for self-association, a phenomenon that can occur spontaneously in the reservoirs or in any of the various stages of production and processing, depending on variations in pressure, temperature, composition and shearing, among others. In this work, it was evaluated the precipitation of asphaltenes

31. Preparation and Characterization of Nickel ferrite Nanoparticles via Co-precipitation Method
Nickel ferrite (NiFe2O4) nanoparticles were synthesized using co-precipitation method. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern was used to determine the structure of NiFe2O4 nanoparticles. The presence of NiFe2O4 nanoparticles was confirmed by the FT-IR spectrum. The details of the surface morphology of NiFe2O4 nanoparticles were obtained by Scanning Electron Mi

32. Lithium containing MgAl mixed oxides obtained from sol-gel hydrotalcite for transesterification
Abstract The innumerous advantages of heterogeneous catalysts employed in biodiesel production have stimulated the search for a solid catalyst capable of replacing the industrially used homogeneous catalysts. This paper investigates the effect of the sol-gel method in the catalytic activity and stability of Li-MgAl mixed oxides prepared by the “in situ”

33. Effect of dissolution kinetics on flotation response of calcite with oleate
Abstract Phosphate flotation performance can be influenced by the dissolution kinetics of the minerals that compose the ore. The purpose of this work was to investigate the effect of dissolution kinetics on flotation response with oleate (collector) of calcites from different origins and genesis. The calcite samples were first purified and characterized by x

34. The Effect of Hydrothermal Treatment on the Morphologies and Optical Properties of Upconversion NaYF 4:Ln 3+ Crystals
This work deals with the synthesis and characterization of upconversion NaYF4:Ln3+ crystals. Co-precipitation and hydrothermal methods were used to synthesize NaYF4:Ln3+ crystals. The experimental procedures were modified to obtain crystals in the cubic (α) phase, hexagonal (β) phase or a mixture between cubic and hexagonal (α/β) phases. Reaction tempera
