1. Effect of molecular weight on hypolipidemic and hypoglycemic activities of fermented Auriculaia auricula supernatant
Abstract Auriculaia auricula is considered as species of Mu Er in Chinese medicine and today are used interchangeably. A. auricula polysaccharides have been shown anti-cholesterol and anti-hyperglycemia. The aim of this research was to investigate the hypolipidemic and anti-hyperglycemic effects of extracts from different molecular weight fragments of A. aur

2. Supramolecular complexes formed by the association of poly(ethyleneimine) (PEI), sodium cholate (NaC) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)

3. Studies on anionic surfactant structure in the aggregation with (hydroxypropyl)cellulose
Abstract: Fluorescence probing, viscosity and light scattering measurements have been combined to study the aggregation of different anionic surfactants mainly in dilute solutions (0.5% w/v) of (hydroxypropyl)cellulose (HPC MW 173,000), in moderate ionic strength (NaCl 0.1 mol.L-1). The set of surfactants includes natural cholesterol derivatives, sodium chol

4. Adsorption of Cholate in layered double hydroxides of magnesium and aluminium: temperature, pH and ionic strength of the media effects.
Est

5. Effect of surfactants and methodologic alterations in the rat inner mitochondrial membrane solubilization analysed by native and two dimensional electrophoresis / Efeito de surfatantes e modificações metodologicas na solubilização de membrana mitocondrial interna de ratos analisada por eletroforese nativa e bidimensional
The majority of the chemical energy produced inside aerobic cells is a result of the oxidative phosphorylation of ATP, inside the mitochondria. A great part of mitochondria proteins are organized into complexes located in the inner mitochondria membrane. Isolation and identification of those proteins have been conducted by electrophoresis, both in native as

6. Caracterização óptica de dispersões aquosas de nanotubos de carbono
It has been demonstrated that the electronic and optical properties of single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNT) are strongly affected by the environment. This strong environmental effect is very relevant in analyzing the composition of carbon nanotube samples using optical techniques, especially in the case of separation experiments, where the SWNT environments a

7. Interação de nanotubos de carbono com segmentos de DNA
Single- and double-stranded DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) molecules can strongly bind to single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) via non-covalent interactions. Under certain conditions, the DNA molecule spontaneously self-assembles into a helical wrapping around the tubular structure of the carbon nanotubes to form DNA/SWNT hybrids, which are both stable and sol

8. Aplicação de proteases alcalinas das vísceras do tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) e da carpa (Cyprinus carpio) como aditivo de detergentes em pó.
Alkaline proteases are commercially important group of enzymes and have a large variety of applications, mainly in the detergent and food industries. The proteases currently uses in the market are serine proteases produced by Bacillus strains, principally. Fish viscera have wide biotechnological potential as a source of digestive proteases. 10. Fetal bile salt metabolism: I. The metabolism of sodium cholate-14C in the fetal dog
Cholate metabolism was studied in fetal dogs 1 wk before term and was compared with cholate metabolism in adult dogs. Tracer amounts of sodium cholate-14C were administered to the fetus in utero by intravenous infusion over 6 hr. Fetal plasma disappearance, biliary excretion, tissue distribution, and placental transfer of cholate were measured over 10 hr.

11. Cholate Resistance in Lactococcus lactis Is Mediated by an ATP-Dependent Multispecific Organic Anion Transporter
The cholate-resistant Lactococcus lactis strain C41-2, derived from wild-type L. lactis MG1363 through selection for growth on cholate-containing medium, displayed a reduced accumulation of cholate due to an enhanced active efflux. However, L. lactis C41-2 was not cross resistant to deoxycholate or cationic drugs, such as ethidium and rhodamine 6G, which are

12. Murein and the Outer Penetration Barrier of Escherichia coli K-12, Proteus mirabilis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa
A penetration barrier operating outside the periplasmic enzyme penicillinase was studied in an ampicillin-resistant mutant of Escherichia coli K-12. Growth in the presence of lysozyme and sublethal concentrations of ampicillin partially opened the barrier. This could be recorded as an increased penetration of penicillin G, sodium cholate, and rifampin to the
