RESUMO

This work looked for to investigate the knowledge that the traditional populations they stop regarding the natural resources, your relationship with those resources and, specifically, the relationship between the traditional community of the National Park Grande Sertão Veredas and the park; the historicof this ocupation in the area, your perception of the area protected, as well as your longings and feelings; it was also aimed at to identify the impacts that the retreat of the traditional populations of your habitat can cause in the life, and even, in those communities culture. The work was accomplished in three stages during the years of 2004 and 2005. The methodology used for the research it was a methodology strictly qualitative, being used the participant observation and questions. The analysis of the obtained data revealed that the park is culturally very rich and the population that resides or it resided in your interior it is, in your great majority, typically country and it uses great amount of coming natural resources of the local ecosystems, these resources are essential to your survival and they are used starting from the acquired and reviewed traditional knowledge of generation in generation. The area has great affective value for your residents and former-residents and the relevance of the area for the conservation after decades of handling for those traditional populations, he/she suggests that the protected areas of the countries in development are treated in a different way than the protected areas of the countries developed that possess a reality cultural, social and environmental very different. The park possesses great affective value for your residents and your retreat of the area was very felt by the traditional populations that they possess a peculiar and differentiated form of appropriation of the natural resources, what should be taken in consideration by the public politics of environmental administration, because such knowledge can come constituting important handling instrument and conservation of ecosystems of the savannah.
