This paper is an attempt of Campina Grande urban space understanding, the one that claims for a new way however keeping a heritage of two preterits. Having understood that the updating space processes comprehe nsion has been facing the discernment of the city and its historicity, this paper has had as the initial thought the possibility of insertion of the campinense space in the previous ways, the ones which in the meantime refer it the then existent. That way, itâs purposed that the importance and the roles that Campina Grande has been achieving throughout times is due to the virtuosities which have been produced and introduced in its territory. The main aim of this research has been the Central Free Market. Feature such market takes place weekly since the very settlement of the interior of ParaÃba whose history is mistaken for the one of the city. That market has faced expansion times and crises as well, resulting the loss of its importance as it had in the past, however itâs still seen certain strength for it go on. Even preserving antique features whereas it welcomes modern ones. Campina Grande free market is constituted in a rugosity in which the new and old live with offering opportunities to the most diverse social agents for them to go on producing, either in what relates to the economic aspects, either to cultural and social ones. However, among the interests multiplicity in free market, it is going to be focused on the economic aspect due to the important role carried out by this market in the daily reproduction of the significant parcel of the campinense population as well as its nearly spaces. It shouldnât be forgotten to mention the market cultural aspect by its richness, strength and life in this free market.
