RESUMO

This work outlines a new method to obtain conducting composites of Polypyrrole (PPy)/Poly(vinilydene Fluoride) (PVDF), via UV-ligth induced Polymerization in presence of suitable a Photoacid Generator (PAG) compound such as Iron-arene and Triphenyl Sulfonium salts or organic PAG compound such as chlorinated triazines. Gravimetric and Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA) studies, have shown that the Polymerization yield PVDF insxdating matrix depends largely on the UV exposure doses, the nature and concentration of photoinitiator used as catalyst. Photoliberated iron-arene (Fe+++) compounds and superacids such as hexafluorantimony acid (HSbF6) have shown better results than clorhidric acid. Pores size are also important factor thai can control PFy deposition under UV-light exposure. Preliminary results about transversal conductivity of membranes have shown average values ranging from 10-15 to 10-10 S/cm, depending on PPy composition. After PPy inclusion in polymeric matrix, the membranes initially hydrophilic become highly Hydrophobic. Filtration experiments have shown that water permeability of membranas are largely affected by PPy inclusion and this results can be used to measure the degree of diameter pores diminution
