RESUMO

AVELINO, Daniel. Semiotics of law: study of juridical sign based on concepts of Charles Sanders Peirce. 2006. 167 f. Master Degree â Centro de CiÃncias JurÃdicas / Faculdade de Direito do Recife, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, Recife. This analysis proposes an attempt to evoke the ideas of Charles Sanders Peirce, concerning to semiotics and theory of signs, in order to promote a practical approach over juridical contexts. At first, a general depiction of Peirceâs works is presented, emphasizing his phenomenology and triadic categories, and leading to a discussion about structuralism and structures as a method. Further, the main concepts of a theory of signs, focusing the elements of triadic relations and improvement and abstraction as semiotic chains, are described and applied into the context of law, proposing a glance of juridical norm as a sign, and debating normative semiotic, as well as the effects of dogma over infinite semiosis. Eventually, normative system and language system are left behind as conduct emerges at center stage, as a communicative sign itself. This semiotic of conducts presents its concepts and categories, relating juridical issues to themes as social values, ethics and example. The study ends remarking the importance of conceptual development to enhance scientific and academic discourse.
