RESUMO

The transformation of any grain refining method into an useful process one depends on getting through a long chain of factors which begins with the scientific building of the technical body and finishes up with industrial, marketing and other else profitable factors. From the scientific and technologycal point view, this work is searching to give rise to this kind transformation, by testing a grain refining method, which operates by gas bubbling into the solidifying metal (commercial purity aluminum), on his grain refining efficiency and about the resulting mechanical properties of its products. The gas bubbling process works under a wide range of gas flow rate and around the usual comercial aluminum superheating amount. The resulting products exhibit improved mechanical properties - ultimate tensile strength, alongation percent and conventional 0,5% flow stress
