RESUMO

The goal of this investigation is to understand how the teachers articulate the ambient questions in the thematic boarded in classroom of a school located in a fishing community. This investigation evidences the influences of the formation courses in the environmental Education conception. This study was done at 2006 in a municipal school located in a fishing community of São José do Norte city, with the participation of three teachers of the initial years. For that, I used individual interviews, classroom and school general context observations. The collected data were qualitatively analyzed through content analysis. Through interviews, I looked for to rescue what teachers understand about environmental Education and how they apply this knowledge in classroom. The contact with the teachers and the daily of the school showed the difficulties found by them at working with the cultural content of the students, witch at most are fishing children and live in the side of Lagoa dos Patos in way to the pollution, lack of basic sanitation, among other things. These lacks influence the teachers action and her role in the educative process. Concluding the study, I could perceive that the teachers had knowledge and they express the necessity of that the citizens are acquired knowledge about the ambient questions related to fish and the pollution. However, they do not place themselves in the process, and do not feel themselves responsible therefore. This strengthens an anthropocentric vision of the environmental Education.
