RESUMO

The dissertation was composed of a revising chapter of the corresponding literature and a original article. The revising chapter approaches a brief history of Feeding and Nutrition Politics and Programs in the country. The information was extracted from articles published in scientific magazines and books, using Scielo and Lilacs data base, and available documents in governmental websites, referenced upon the Norms from Brazilian Technical Norms Association â BTNA. The original article entitled: âGovernmental Programs (NSFP and CWEP) â cover, student and/or guarantorâs participation, and the perception of executorsâ, analyses these programs in risky micro-areas of Gameleira town, Pernambuco, and relates the frequency of school food distribution to the social-economical characteristics of the students and home chiefs. The study was of transversal type, with samples of 249 homes and 504 students. For data collection, it has been used the questionnaire. The analysis has been realized through the Epi info 6.04-computer program, and the Epinut software. The participation in the Programs has been shown more effective among the urban students. The frequency of food distribution was irregular, mainly in the rural sector, which presented the worst social-economical conditions among those that did not receive the food or rarely did. The difficulties found picture the contradiction between what has been established by the NSFP and the townâs financial reality. It is expected that these results may serve as subsidy so that the Programs meets the objectives proposed
