RESUMO

Hybrid materials between aluminum and iron polyphosphate gels, polyaniline and carbon materials were synthesized and were used as electrode materials to assemble electrochemical devices. The aluminum and iron polyphosphate gels, the carbon materials as well as the hybrids obtained between these materials and polyaniline were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis, Raman spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, IV spectroscopy, impedance spectroscopy, X-rays difratometry, transmission electronic microscopy and BET surface area. With the electrode materials synthesized, two kind of electrochemical devices were assembled: batteries and capacitors. The batteries were built with the hybrid materials as cathode, zinc as anode and aqueous solution of NH4Cl e ZnCl2 as electrolyte and they were characterized by constant current discharge. The battery in which the graphite was used in the cathode was the one that showed the best performance. Two series of capacitor were assembled with the electrode materials synthesized: one with the conducting polymer and another without the polymer. The capacitors were characterized by impedance spectroscopy, galvanostatic cycling and cyclic voltammetry. The capacitors in which polyaniline were in the electrodes showed the higher capacitance values than those without the polymer, as high as 117 FÂg-1 for aluminum and iron polyphosphate gel/sphere carbon/polyaniline. The capacitors specific energy and power allow them to be classified as supercapacitors, those values are closely related to similar devices reported in the literature. The results showed that the materials synthesized are suitable to be used as electrode, in batteries and capacitors, due to their properties and their simple synthesis route
