RESUMO

ABSTRACT The present study aims at identifying the perspective of the Representatives of Institutes of Higher Education Associations on the public policies adopted for the evaluation of the level of education at Universities and Institutes of Higher Education in Brazil and from that perspective critically analyze the official evaluation models implemented by the Ministry of Education Besides the perception of the managers of the associations of Institutes of Higher Education the present research has also sought that of the members of the Education National Council as they are important agents in the creative process of public policies for this evaluation By doing so consistent data was found to allow for a critical analysis of the evaluation models implemented since the second half of the nineties to those in use at present The choice of the qualitative research carried out in the form of interviews and documentation analysis has provided elements which confronted with the theory resulted in a critical attitude towards the theme of public policies for evaluation
