RESUMO

The Deposition of paraffin is a serious problem in the production and transportation of heavy oil, causing a large increase in the costs of these operations. At the Transporting of paraffinic oil through pipelines subjected to low temperatures environmental, heat will be lost through the walls of the duct and the process of formation and deposition of paraffinic crystals will start at the inner wall of the duct, this phenomenon may result in additional spending in pumping energy, decrease of the production and environmental risks due to leakages. The influence of thermodynamic model of paraffin deposition and operational conditions of the transport is evaluated in determining the profile of deposit. The thermodynamic models have been simulated and experimentally validated. The profiles of dynamic deposition were also simulated and experimentally validated with data extracted from the literature. A graphical interface for the computer simulator was developed in MATLAB environment to facilitate numerical studies of the phenomenon.
