RESUMO

The documents that portray the world of childhood on the streets of Recife and in prisons show the stories of boys. Boys sellers of newspapers on the streets of Recife, where many of them were caught by trams at work, boys loaded freight, boys who theft food in the St. Joseph market, boys involved in fights, injury and even death. The child it was "minor", receiving nothing worthy names such as idle, thief and criminal. The objective of our work is research in the field of history the daily lives of the boys in the streets and prisons of Recife, with the central problem of our research analysis of how and why these children and young people who lived in the world of the streets and / or work were gathered in the House of Detention of Recife, in schools and other correctional institutions of confinement, during the period from 1927 to 1937. The chronological boundaries of our research is justified for 1927 be the year of the promulgation of the Code of Minors, when we examine the unfolding as the creation of this apparatus and legal assistance in its first ten years. The year 1937 marks the end of the constitutional government of Getúlio Vargas and the end of management of Carlos de Lima Cavalcanti in Pernambuco. The Code of Minors of 1927, landmark of the care of children in Brazil, born of the interests of those sectors of society, under the aegis of the bourgeois morality, from punitive measures and disciplinary built from the logic police, and legitimized by the scientific discourse of experts of childhood. However, we must remember that in the face of disciplinary measures existed the no disciplinary, forward the strategies of control and coercion exists a wide range of tactics to circumvent the rules and tax codes. Understand the problem of children and that the universe is guided discover unexploited worlds, where the games and bold actions maybe confronted with the most diverse practices of control and coercion. From that perspective, build the story of these boys comes to investigate the place of the excludedin history
