Estudo comparativo do desenvolvimento das características comportamentais empreendedoras dos alunos da disciplina de empreenderismo durante o primeiro semestre letivo de 2004 nos cursos de administração e turismo &lazer da FURB-Santa Catarina-Brasil

RESUMO

Since the end of the last century, great changes have been doing in the concepts related to work and employment, stimulating us to understand the commitment and the responsibilities of creating our own business, that might be seen such as a way to survive as well as a personal achievement. This presents a strong relation with the educational world, in which the nonconventional alternatives of work must be considered in the academic field. The universities also have to face the entrepreneurship as an important tool to maintain the employability of their students; they ought to focus at the development of the entrepreneurs behavior characteristics, as a differential to be successful in an enterprise, because even when there are plenty resources, like business plan and loaning, many companies bankrupt in their first years. The goal is to find out if it is possible to develop these characteristics in the students and compare them in the beginning and by the end of one semester with entrepreneurship classes, through a research that involved the students of Administração and Turismo &Lazer from the Universidade Regional de Blumenau - FURB. The research was based in filling a questionnaire developed by McClelland (1972), grounding in specialized literature. This questionnaire allows the student to classify his answer in a number scale that goes from one to five (Likert scale). It is attributed to these numbers terms like never, seldom, sometimes, usually and always, in this order. Seventy students of Administração and Turismo &Lazer, from FURB filled the questionnaire. Each student answered fifty-five questions in two different opportunities. This model is easy to fulfill and allows an immediately visualization and a self-analysis of the final results, composed by a graphic. It was realized that even in the early semester, it already existed an entrepreneur profile. During the period analyzed, it was also noticed an improvement of the entrepreneurs behavior characteristics, which proves that the students can recognize the opportunities that appears to star a new business or to expand the enterprises that already exist. One of the most important factors pointed in the research is the worry in keeping the objective and establishing goals, essentials entrepreneurs characteristics. Besides, the students seem to be very focused to achieve results. Based on the results of the research, it is realized that the interviewed students have the entrepreneurs profile, with its characteristics well defined.
