RESUMO

A Flow injection Analysis system and methodology was developed with the aim of determining ammonia in Kjeldahl digeste, soil and water, by use of conductometry. The method is on based on the diffusion of ammonia through a PTFE membrane from an alkaline medium to a deionized water stream. The conductance of deionized water iis continuously monitore and alteration is related to ammonia concentration present in the sample. The influence of flow parameters, reagent concentrations, temperature, and potential sources of interferences were studied. The methodology allows around 100 determinations per hour with a precision around 1%. The detection limit was found to be 10M. The accuracy was estimated by comparing the results obtained using the proposed method with those using conventional techniques.
